To address the growing demand for COVID-19 testing, Phamatech Laboratory and Diagnostics, Inc. (Phamatech) added a new pop-up drive-thru testing location in San Diego.
Phamatech will offer the nucleic acid test (by high-throughput PCR) to the general public on Sunday, September 20 at 4440 Euclid Avenue, San Diego CA 92115 from 8 A.M. to 2 P.M.
Individuals do not need an appointment or a prescription from a physician to be tested for the coronavirus. Testing will be available on a first-come-first-serve basis, and they will accept walk-ups. Individuals will be required to fill out a registration form and pay in cash on-site. Medicare
and Medicaid insurance holders qualify for free testing.
“Phamatech has been offering testing services to the general public and local businesses and organizations for a couple of months now to help them reopen and safety return to work and school,” said Dr. Thomas Aucoin, Vice President at Phamatech. “We are excited to extend our reach into more communities with the addition on this new pop-up location. We hope to
continue to add more days and locations in the future to help the community’s need for increased local testing.”
The Nucleic acid test (by high-throughput PCR), a molecular test that determines if someone is currently infected with the coronavirus, priced at $100, will be performed by a Phamatechlaboratory technician using the FDA EUA authorized Thermofisher PCR method using a nasal swab sample.
Sample collection procedures take about 15 minutes and test results will be shared within 48 hours.
