San Diego company offers multiple tests and flexible location options
San Diego, CA (July 13, 2020) – Phamatech Laboratory and Diagnostics, Inc. (Phamatech) will begin offering new COVID-19 testing services for local businesses and organizations, to help support safe reopening plans. Phamatech, a CLIA licensed laboratory, manufacturer, and global provider of diagnostic products, will administer both the antigen (by PCR) and antibody tests at its San Diego office starting this month.
To help businesses with over 25 employees, Phamatech can also dispatch a mobile collection service to provide on-location testing, saving the company and its workers time and money.
“Many of the outbreaks in our community have been tied to businesses, so Phamatech took additional steps to bring in new equipment and tests so local businesses can help employees feel confident in returning to the workplace,” said Dr. Thomas Aucoin, Vice President at Phamatech Inc. “We are already working closing with local physicians and corporations to begin the testing their employees and support their measures for safe reopening plans.”
To meet the increased demand for PCR and antibody testing, Phamatech expanded their state-of-the-art laboratory and test analysis using the Luminex and Thermo Fisher QuantStudio platform systems for PCR—based molecular testing.
Phamatech’s antigen (by PCR) tests, priced at $120, will determine if someone is currently infected with the coronavirus. The test will be performed by a Phamatech healthcare worker using the FDA EUA authorized Thermofisher PC method using a nasal swab sample. The serology antibody tests, priced at $95, will determine if someone has previously had the coronavirus, and will be performed using the FDA EUA authorized Roche Analyzer using a blood draw taken by Phamatech’s certified phlebotomists. Sample collection procedures take about 15 minutes and test results will be shared within 24 to 48 hours.
Additionally, organizations can choose to have their employees take both the tests as a package for $195, which can provide the most comprehensive picture of past and current exposure to the virus.
Phamatech will also offer its drug testing service, priced at $49, to businesses that choose to test their employees before returning to work. Testing will be offered at the place of business and based on the employer’s choice, it will be performed using an oral swab or urine or hair sample.
