San Diego, CA (June 26, 2020) – To help support local communities and their residents’ safe return to work and school, Phamatech Laboratory and Diagnostics, Inc. (Phamatech), a CLIA licensed laboratory and a manufacturer and global provider of diagnostic products, announces the launch of its COVID-19 testing service in San Diego.
Starting in mid-July, Phamatech will provide sample collection and lab testing for both COVID-19 viral antigen (by PCR) and antibody tests at a yet to be disclosed location each weekend. PCR tests, which determine if someone is currently infected with the coronavirus, will be performed by a Phamatech healthcare worker using a nasal swab sample that will be analyzed in a lab. The antibody tests, which determine if someone has previously had the coronavirus, will be performed with an IV blood draw.
Testing will be available each weekend, and an appointment can be scheduled online. Enrollees will be required to show identification and fill out a registration form upon arrival at the soon to be announced testing site. Sample collection procedures take about 5 – 10 minutes and test results will be shared via email within 24 to 48 hours.

To meet the anticipated demand for PCR and antibody testing, Phamatech will expand its laboratory capabilities to analyze test results at its state-of-the-art laboratory in San Diego. Phamatech will perform this valuable community service using FDA approved EUA test kits manufactured in the United States.
